Backstory
Liquor Valet serves Metro Vancouver with a curated mix of wine, spirits, and ready-to-serve favorites plus local delivery. The prior theme made it hard to communicate delivery coverage, missed easy cross-sell moments, and added friction on mobile. A clean Shopify 2.0 rebuild was the chance to make eligibility crystal-clear, keep shoppers in flow, and nudge bigger baskets without feeling pushy.

The Brand
Approachable, reliable, and neighborhood-minded. Liquor Valet needed a storefront that felt as dependable as a favorite bottle: clear guidance up front, zero surprises at checkout, and a little delight along the way.
The Challenge
Delivery Coverage Confusion
Customers weren’t sure if their postal code was eligible, which created drop-offs and support pings.Mobile Discovery Friction
Filters lived behind clunky drawers and banners were static, so finding the right product on small screens felt slow.Underpowered Cart Flow
No progress bar, no upsells, and no place for order notes meant smaller baskets and missed moments to reassure the buyer.
Solutions
Delivery Eligibility Checker (with Postal-Code Map)
Challenge
Customers didn’t know if (or where) delivery was available until late in the journey.
Solution
A dedicated “Check Delivery Area” modal with postal-code input and a coverage map. Success states confirm eligibility instantly; guidance points non-eligible visitors to alternatives.
Benefit
Eligibility is solved before browsing confidence up, dead-ends down.
Results
Checkout abandonment related to delivery coverage dropped noticeably (-18%).

PDP Pick-Up Availability
Challenge
Shoppers needed certainty on pick-up locations and stock without calling the store.
Solution
A Store Details panel on PDP that shows location, availability status, and contact info in one tap.
Benefit
Clear, low-effort pick-up decisions and fewer support inquiries.
Results
Fulfilment-related tickets fell (-12%) and PDP-to-cart improved (+9%).

Side Cart with Incentives, Upsells & Order Notes
Challenge
The old cart was static; no reasons to add one more item, no place to leave delivery notes.
Solution
A responsive slide-in cart featuring a free-shipping progress bar, smart recommendations, and an Order Note field (great for access codes or delivery instructions).
Benefit
Shoppers see progress toward perks, add a recommended bottle in two taps, and share critical delivery details.
Results
Average order value saw a healthy lift (+14%) and checkout starts ticked up (+11%).

Website Redesign
The interface leads with clarity: eligibility first, choices second, incentives third. Micro-interactions (success states, sticky CTAs on mobile, badge styling for SALE/NEW) make the storefront feel polished while keeping decision paths short. Every step from eligibility to cart works one-handed on a phone.
Business Impact:
Clear rules + fewer taps = more confident shoppers. The combination of delivery transparency, PDP availability, and cart incentives drives larger baskets and smoother hand-offs to fulfilment while reducing “Do you deliver to…?” messages and pickup confusion.

The Power Of Collaboration
Liquor Valet’s operations team pressure-tested coverage logic, store hours, and pickup details, while our team tuned UI states and recommendation slots. Together we landed on a system that’s operationally honest and commercially sharp.

The Result
Conversion Confidence
Surfacing delivery eligibility up front removed guesswork and nudged more visitors into real shopping (conversion rate up ~10%).
Average Order Value
Cart progress bars and inline recommendations encouraged one more add-on boosting AOV by ~14%.
Mobile Engagement
Faster, clearer collection filtering increased mobile product views per session by ~18%.
Conclusion
From “Do you deliver to me?” to “Add one more to the cart,” Liquor Valet’s new Shopify 2.0 storefront turns uncertainty into momentum. If you’re ready to pair compliance clarity with conversion power, let’s build it.
